Indian High Commission in London celebrates Independence Day

A major part of Indian Independence Day celebrations in London was the cultural performances by the Indian diaspora.

A major part of Indian Independence Day celebrations in London was the cultural performances by the Indian diaspora.

The guests at the evening reception enjoyed the Kathak dance, Santoor recital, Bhangra, and various other Indian classical dances.

On Aug. 15, the High Commission of India in London marked the Day at the India House with the Acting High Commissioner Sujit Ghosh hoisting the Indian national flag in the presence of Indian citizens and friends of India in London.

Ghosh also unveiled a model of India's Light Combat Aircraft' Tejas.'

The High Commission also held a reception to commemorate the port call of the Indian naval ship INS Tarangini to London.
