
The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi celebrated Republic Day with a flag-hoisting ceremony presided over by Ambassador Sunjay Sudhir.
Later in the evening, the ambassador held a reception where Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE's Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, took center stage to highlight the strong ties between both nations. Accompanying him were several other senior government officials.
Addressing the audience, Al Nahyan highlighted the historical, long-standing India-UAE ties and their excellent growth prospects across many sectors.
Ambassador Sudhir, in his address, praised the extent of cultural, political, and economic relations between the two nations, supported by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The occasion was notable as a select group of iconic diaspora members were honored for their distinguished achievements and contributions.
The Indian community members from the nonprofit organization Dawoodi Bohras were lauded for their welfare work.
He also recognized Indian People's Forum and Firdous Basha for their work on cultural exchanges between India and UAE.
Furthermore, he highly commended 'The artscrafts' organization which had earned itself a Guinness World Record after gathering 65 artists together in one place.
The evening was further marked with enthralling cultural performances from different regions in India, providing an insight into its rich diversity.
