India House in Colombo celebrates Independence Day

Indian diaspora in Sri Lanka celebrated Indian Independence Day in various locations.

Indian diaspora in Sri Lanka celebrated Indian Independence Day in various locations.

High Commissioner Gopal Baglay hosted the main event at the India House in Colombo.

Sri Lankan Navy Band and students of Guru Sadara Supathum participated in cultural performances.

The High Commissioner also paid homage at the Indian Peace Keeping Force Memorial.

Celebratory events were organized by the Assistant High Commission in Kandy, Consulate General in Jaffna, and Consulate General in Hambantota.

The celebrations in Jaffna were held at the iconic Jaffna Cultural Center, a state-of-the-art facility in the city, built with the assistance of the Government of India.
