Ambassador Manish Chauhan hosts Republic Day celebration in Lisbon

Portugal's Indian community came together in celebration on Jan. 26, hosted by the Embassy of India and its Ambassador Manish Chauhan - all to commemorate India's 74th Republic Day.

Portugal's Indian community came together in celebration on Jan. 26, hosted by the Embassy of India and its Ambassador Manish Chauhan - all to commemorate India's 74th Republic Day.

Guests enjoyed a memorable evening full of lively cultural performances, music, and plentiful refreshments that honored this historic event.

Ana Catarina Mendes, minister for parliamentary affairs, and  Bernardo Ivo Cruz, secretary of state for international trade & foreign investment, attended the gathering. Representatives from Diplomatic missions of various countries were also present.

A connection of cultures was displayed at the event, as Portuguese and Indian artists presented stunning performances of traditional classical Indian dances. The collaborative performance showed a strong friendship between the two nations which forged an energetic bond for all to enjoy

The event also celebrated The International Year of Millets 2023 grandly by setting up a 'Millet Corner' at an event. 

In a dazzling display of healthy deliciousness and traditional flavors, the reception was truly grand. Millets-based delicacies and other succulent dishes from India's diverse culinary repertoire provided an unforgettable experience to everyone in attendance.
