Jakarta Indians celebrate Indian Independence Day

Indian Independence Day celebrations in Jakarta, Indonesia, started with Ambassador Manoj K. Bharti hoisting the Tricolor at the India House.
A brief cultural program was organized, including a rendition of patriotic songs and classical dance performances by talents from the Indian diaspora.
The ceremony was attended by India's Mission to ASEAN and representatives of the Indian diaspora.

Abdul Kadir Jailani, Director General- the Asia Pacific and Africa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Indonesia, joined as the Chief Guest of the virtual celebrations of the day. The Chief Guest highlighted the similarities between India and Indonesia as regional powers and the scope of further cooperation in international cooperation and COVID-19 pandemic management.
On the eve of Independence Day, Gama Tower- Indonesia's tallest building got illuminated with the digital banner of the Flag of India.
