The Embassy of India in Prague, Czech Republic, celebrated the International Day of Yoga at the India House Garden. Ambassador Hemant Kotalwar led the celebrations with Yoga teacher, Czech actor Petra Spindlerova and other dignitaries.
The Ananda Band performed a special Indian music session with traditional Indian musical instruments.
The Indian Embassy began the celebrations on June 8 with a workshop on the advantages of regular Yoga. On the sidelines of this event, Kotalwar also displayed three chosen brands, Coorg, Chikmagalur, and Araku Coffee, to introduce Indian coffee flavors to Prague.
The historically relevant and most beautiful Czech city, Kutna Hora, held a Yoga workshop on June 17 on the lawns of St. Barbara Cathedral. Then, on June 19, it arranged another curtain raiser function at the second biggest city in the Czech Republic after Prague, Brno.
On June 20, the Indian Embassy partnered with Yoga in Daily Life to conduct a Yoga session at “The Yoga Village,” Strilky.
Various Czech native artists took to Twitter to express their fondness for Yoga on the occasion of Yoga Day.
Famous Czech violin expert Pavel Sporcl posted a video on Twitter conveying his interest in Yoga and said, “I have practiced Yoga since I was very, very little but not often, like my Mum. I like Yoga very much as it is an important exercise.” Also, the famous Czech guitar player and contemporary composer Lukas Sommer encouraged the discipline in a video.
