India's link with Fiji is growing — Indian High Commissioner

High Commissioner P .S. Karthigeyan underlined the unique relations shared by India with Fiji and other Pacific Island countries at the Indian Republic Day event in Suva, Fiji.

"It is a matter of great satisfaction to see the links growing from strength to strength despite the ongoing pandemic challenge," he stated.

The High Commissioner released two Hindi books on the occasion.

‘Fiji Ke Kavi Muhammad Yusuf Ka Kavya: Srijan evam Dristi.’ The book is a collection of 170 poems composed by renowned Fijian Poet Muhammad Yusuf.

The other book is 'Indradhanush: Fiji ki Hindi Kahaniyaan,' which is a collection of stories of 15 Fijian writers. The book is edited by professor. Subhashini Lata Kumar, Lecturer at Fiji National University.

The Indian Mission and Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center in Suva assisted in publishing the books.

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Indian High Commissioner inaugurated the AtmaNirbhar Bharat Corner at the Indian Embassy. The exhibition features tribal art and craft products from India.
