Lanka Indian Oil Corporation marks birth anniversary of Gandhi

The High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka commented on LIOC’s role in ensuring Sri Lanka’s energy security and meeting its industries’ growing needs.

Lanka Indian Oil Corporation organized an event at its facility in Trincomalee to celebrate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. 

High Commissioner Gopal Baglay, the high commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, attended the event.  He recalled Gandhi’s visit to Sri Lanka in 1927 and his close association with the Sri Lankan people.

Later the high commissioner joined Manoj Gupta, LIOC managing director, for a tour of the newly inaugurated grease plant at the facility.

The high commissioner commented on LIOC’s role in ensuring Sri Lanka’s energy security and meeting its industries’ growing needs.
