A grand celebration was held at the Michael Fowler Center in New Zealand's capital Wellington marking Diwali, the festival of lights.

The Indian High Commission charge d'affairs Mukesh Ghiya, Wellington Mayor Tory Whanau, and Minister of customs Meka Whaitiri were the dignitaries at the event.

Natraj School of Dance and the Shivam Dance Academy, Mayur Dance Academy, Mudra Dance Academy, and Shimmy Dance Academy held Indian cultural performances at the event.

The festival concluded with a fireworks display at the Wellington waterfront.
