Indian Embassy in Minsk hosts special Republic Day Reception

The Indian Embassy in Minsk, Belarus, celebrated the 74th Republic Day with flag-hoisting led by Ambassador Alok Ranjan Jha on Jan. 26.

Later he addressed members of the Indian diaspora and Belarusian friends of India, honoring India's long-standing commitment to democracy, reading out President Droupadi Murmu's address to the nation.

Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei  Aleinik and Deputy Foreign Minister Evgeny Shestakov attended a special reception celebrating India-Belarus relations. The evening was filled with exquisite Indian cuisine, dazzling dance performances, and melodic music.

Addressing the audience, Jha said, “Cooperation in the foreseeable future will be a combination of reinforcing the traditional strengths of our bilateral relations and exploring new areas of mutual interest. So, as we enter this new year, let's also recommit ourselves to our common objective of taking India-Belarus ties to still greater heights.” 

Separately, the House of Friendship held a festive event attended by key figures in Belarusian art, journalism, and academia. Notable attendees included Member of Council Andrei Rusakovich.
