Prominent Ministers at High Commissioner's reception in Namibia

High Commissioner Prashant Agrawal and Mrs. Rakhee Agrawal hosted a Reception at the Chancery to mark the 73rd Republic Day of India.

The evening saw impressive participation from senior ministers of the Namibian Government. In addition, members of the diplomatic corps, academia, media, business, think tanks, NGOs, and the Indian community were also present.

Among the eminent persons present were the Speaker of the National Assembly, Minister of Information & Communication Technology, Minister of Justice, Deputy Minister of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication & Social Welfare, Deputy Minister of Health & Social Services, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety & Security and Deputy Minister of Information & Communication Technology.

The Chief Guest of the event was Jenelle Matundu, Deputy Minister of International Relations & Cooperation.

India and Namibia share a close people-to-people connection.

The event showcased this bond through a unique India-Namibia Fashion Show. The show exemplified the rich traditions and diversity of Indian textiles and costumes presented by Namibian models. Among those walking the ramp were Miss Teen Namibia 2021, Miss Namibia 2019, Miss Namibia 2018, and cricketers of the Namibian National Cricket Team.
